To enhance the well-being and health conditions of vulnerable populations through clean water, sanitation, and hygiene services while addressing malnutrition and health-related issues.
Enhance clean water, sanitation, and hygiene services for 6,600 individuals, strengthening protection against waterborne diseases, Improve the nutritional well-being of 2,111 children under five years old and 1,472 pregnant and lactating women, reducing morbidity and mortality linked to malnutrition, and enhance the health conditions of 3,200 individuals, including 1,472 females, reducing morbidity and mortality related to health issues.

Empowering Communities through Nutrition Initiatives – Update No: 4

1. Nourishing Mothers/Caretakers:

We are delighted to share that 89 mothers/caregivers have received vital food provisions, supporting their well-being and ensuring a healthy start for their families.

2. Enhancing Nutrition Through Counseling:

  • The project has successfully implemented targeted nutrition interventions and community education activities across two project woredas.
  • The primary goal was to improve maternal, infant, and young child feeding practices through comprehensive nutrition counseling.
  • Community awareness was raised on crucial topics, including Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF), encompassing breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and maternal nutrition.

3. Positive Impact on 607 Mothers/Caretakers:

  • The tangible outcome of our efforts is reflected in the 60.7% (607 individuals) of mothers/caretakers benefiting from personalized nutrition counseling and engaging cooking demonstrations in the two woredas.
  • Collaborating closely with woreda health offices, our project facilitated these sessions, actively promoting and enhancing proper feeding practices for mothers, infants, and young children.
