Update No: 2 – Creating Sanitary Solutions for IDPs
In our ongoing commitment to improving living conditions for vulnerable populations, we are pleased to share the progress of our latest initiative, the construction of four semi-permanent public latrines dedicated to internally displaced persons (IDPs).
- · The construction of three semi-permanent public latrines has been completed in Bokolomayo Woreda, specifically at Hawal Haji and Bokolomayo Health Center. Additionally, ongoing efforts are underway to construct one latrine in Sadey Kebele. Each well-thought-out block consists of six rooms, featuring four toilet pits and two shower rooms, ensuring comprehensive sanitation facilities for the benefit of the community.
Empowering Communities with Hygiene Solutions
This initiative extends beyond infrastructure development. We have distributed water purification taps and standard WASH kits to households in the targeted Kebeles within the two Woredas.
Numbers that Reflect Impact
· The distribution included WASH kits equipped with water purification tabs, reaching 495 households and benefiting a total of 2,757 individuals. This step not only enhances access to clean water but also empowers families with essential tools for maintaining proper hygiene practices.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our journey toward a healthier, more water-secure future for all. Together, we are making waves of positive change!
