PAPDA is proud to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive five-day training program that equipped 35 of our dedicated team members with critical skills in digital literacy, cybersecurity, and an introductory understanding of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems at Kereyu Hill Resort, Adama, from August 12 to 16, 2024.

Papda believes that investing in such training is crucial in ensuring the safety and success of the organization in today’s ever-evolving digital world. Papda is proud of its team’s dedication to continuous learning and development and looks forward to implementing the knowledge gained to benefit the beneficiaries and our organizahole. The training program was made possible through the Digitalization Project funded by PADD.

The program aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of digital literacy and cybersecurity practices, covering topics such as identifying and mitigating online risks, safeguarding sensitive information, and staying updated on the latest digital threats and protective measures.

Digital Literacy and Cybersecurity: Building a Secure Digital Foundation
In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, understanding how to navigate and secure digital environments is more critical than ever. The training provided our staff with essential digital literacy and cybersecurity knowledge, focusing on identifying and mitigating online risks, safeguarding sensitive information, and staying updated on the latest digital threats and protective measures. This training empowers our team to manage digital challenges confidently, ensuring that PAPDA remains resilient against potential cybersecurity threats.

ERP Training: Introducing the Team to Centralized Operations
A key component of the training was introducing our staff to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. This initial training session was designed to familiarize our staff with the functionalities of ERP systems and how they can be used to streamline operations across all departments. It also served as a requirement-gathering session, allowing our team to identify specific needs and challenges the ERP system must address to fit PAPDA’s unique operational requirements.
By centralizing our data and automating processes, we aim to enhance the efficiency of our projects, finances, and human resources. The insights gained during this training will be instrumental in customizing the ERP system to align with PAPDA’s goals and operational needs, ensuring we can make more informed decisions and better manage our resources.

Looking Forward: Leveraging New Skills for Greater Impact
This training marks an important step in our digital transformation journey. It has provided our team with the foundational knowledge needed to engage with ERP systems and allowed us to gather critical insights for customizing the system to fit PAPDA’s specific needs. By enhancing our staff’s skills in these vital areas, we are better positioned to manage our operations, protect our digital assets, and deliver on our mission to support pastoralist communities. We are excited to implement these new skills and insights to further advance PAPDA’s mission.
