On August 19, 2024, a productive discussion occurred at PAPDA headquarters regarding the Bokolmayo Integrated Access to Water and Livelihood Development Project (BOILDIP I). Since its inception on January 1, 2022, this project has played a significant role in enhancing the well-being of pastoralist communities by improving water access and boosting livelihoods in the Bokolmayo Region of the Somali Region. The meeting was attended by representatives from the donor organization, the Protestant Agency for Diakonie and Development (PADD), and PAPDA staff from both the head office and the field office.

PAPDA’s Program Manager, Kumela Hirpa, delivered a detailed presentation on the project’s progress, highlighting its successes, the challenges encountered, and the proposed areas and ideas for Phase II to expand successful interventions and address emerging challenges.

Participants engaged in an active exchange of ideas, focusing on building upon the achievements of the first phase. They explored strategies to scale initiatives, reach more beneficiaries, and refine approaches based on the lessons learned.

The discussion reaffirmed PAPDA’s strong commitment to advancing the objectives of BOILDIP I. The collaborative efforts and strategic planning demonstrated during the meeting are poised to drive the success of Phase II, ensuring the project continues to make a meaningful impact as it approaches its final phase.
