The EEl-Gelib (Ceel-Geylib) hand-dug well has been completely revitalized, bringing life-changing benefits to the local community. What was once a challenging, labor-intensive process of fetching water with buckets and ropes has been replaced with a modern, solar-powered system.

This project’s activities included rebuilding the cattle trough, adding a new water point, and installing a 2.5 kW pump powered by three solar panels and a 20,000-liter storage tanker. Now, water flows easily to both the cattle trough and the water point, ensuring that hundreds of camels, goats, cattle, donkeys, and local families have reliable access to water—even during the dry season.

The surrounding pastoral communities, many of whom have moved closer to the well for easier access to water, are deeply grateful for this improvement. According to them, it has made their lives much easier, sparing them time and energy for other important tasks.

Their overwhelming appreciation is a testament to the success and value of this project!
