UNFPA Micro Assessment at PAPDA: Building Strengths, Enhancing Capacity

On May 9, 2024, the United Nations Fund for Population Affairs (UNFPA) conducted a partner micro assessment at the PAPDA head office. This assessment, conducted every five years in accordance with UNFPA policy, provides a comprehensive evaluation of PAPDA’s program, financial, and operational management policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls. The assessment was a valuable opportunity for PAPDA to highlight its organizational strengths and receive feedback from UNFPA.

The micro assessment was conducted by the UNFPA-assigned certified audit firm, Tesfaye Teferi Anbese. Each department had the opportunity to present its operational processes, systems, and challenges, while UNFPA posed insightful questions to delve deeper into PAPDA’s operations.

This assessment proved to be a valuable exercise for both PAPDA and UNFPA, allowing PAPDA to gain a deeper understanding of its strengths and areas for improvement. We extend our appreciation to UNFPA for their professionalism and collaboration throughout the assessment process. We look forward to further strengthening our partnership and working together towards our shared goals of improving humanitarian response in Ethiopia.
