Project Title: –Strengthening Local Humanitarian Action to Response to Climate-induced Emergencies
Summary of the Project
We are proud to announce the successful implementation of our SLHA-Climate Project, aimed at building resilience in pastoralist communities to tackle climate-related challenges. This three-month initiative focused on early warning systems, capacity building, and fostering collaboration to address the impact of floods, droughts, and displacement.
The project components that were undertaken are as follows:
– Community Preparedness: Conducted early warning assessments and developed strategies integrating indigenous knowledge.
– Training and Capacity Building: Equipped 20 local stakeholders with tools to mitigate risks and adapt to climate change.
– Safeguarding Awareness: Strengthened protection mechanisms through PSEAH (Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment) training for staff and community members.
– Collaboration and Inclusion: Engaged women, youth, and people with disabilities in decision-making processes.
