Project Area
The project is being implemented in Filtu, Dheka Suftu and DoloAdo woredas of Liban Zone; Somali region; Ethiopia.
Project Beneficiaries
The project strives to address the protection needs, enhance safety and dignity of 11,678 (5,847F) Internally Displaced People and Returnees in Filtu, Dheka sufutu and Dollo Ado Woredas of Liben Zone, Somali Regional State through extensive Community-Based Protection activities, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence prevention, mitigation and response interventions, peaceful co-existence and persons with specific needs activities and assistance provision undertaken by PAPDA with technical and financial support of UNHCR. In addition, PAPDA will also address 1,752 (911F) host communities’ protection concerns in all IDP sites.
Major project activities and outputs
Activity 1.1: Establish/enhance community structures:
Activity 1.2: Enhance POC’s capacity to improve POC’s access to GBV and COVID-19 information and awareness
Activity 2.1: Capacity building training to local service providers on SGBV
Activity 2.2: Provision of psychosocial counseling and legal
services to SGBV survivors.
Activity 2.2.1: Provide holistic case management that is confidential, and client centered
Activity 2.2.2: Provide Women and Adolescent girl’s group PSS through skill building sessions
Activity 2.2.3: Provision of legal assistance to SGBV survivors
Activity 2.2.4: Legal counseling provided for SGBV survivors
Activity 3.1: Establish and Strengthen the community conflict resolution committees (CCRC)
Activity 3.2: Facilitate regular community peacebuilding dialogues among IDPs and host communities
Activity 3.3: Training on conflict management for key community structures and government bodies.
Objective 4: Services for persons with specific needs strengthened.
Activity 4.1: Establishment self-help women’s groups
Activity 4.2: Support with CRI for persons with specific needs (PSNs) provided by UNHCR
