This past week, we at PAPDA made some great strides in supporting our communities through our emergency shelter program. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

  • Shelter Supplies Distribution: From September 20-24, 2024, we successfully distributed emergency shelter supplies—two plastic sheets/tarpaulins and two ropes—to the remaining 4 kebeles, benefiting 800 households. These supplies are vital in helping families rebuild their shelters and protect themselves from the elements.

  • Shelter Construction Training: From September 21-24, we conducted hands-on training for the most vulnerable households, focusing on those with special needs. The training, attended by 20 participants (including 4 women), covered USAID/BHA best practices for tarp installation. This training will empower households to use their supplies effectively and build more secure shelters.

Looking Ahead

Next week, PAPDA will be collaborating with our partners, the service provider and CCFC, to transfer multi-purpose cash assistance to those in need. We’re excited to continue making a positive impact in our communities!
